Position sensors are used for precise movement of the robot arm, bucket truck or cutting machine mechanisms. When work requires speed, durability in an environment full of dust and oil droplets, magnetostrictive linear displacement sensors are used. Their accuracy under heavy workload is measured down to multiple zeros after the decimal point. Although such precision is not required everywhere, displacement sensors installed in place of limit switches provide much better equipment control and monitoring capabilities.
